The User Experience (UX) Designer, as part of the IT Delivery team, will ensure the creation of intuitive, easy-to-use, high value and seamless experiences across new and existing solutions created for PLTW customers (internally and externally). From participating in requirements analysis to creating wireframes and other visual assets such as visual prototypes, UX flows, UI assets, the UX Designer will work alongside the IT Teams and engage with team members in various business units to create intuitive and innovative user experiences targeted towards the various personas of PLTW's user base.


Create flows, sketches, wireframes, visual prototypes/mock-ups, and other design/UI artifacts to define and communicate end-to-end user experiences.

Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.

Design user interfaces and information architecture working across the user experience domain, including research (user interviews/requirements gathering, persona development), design (group ideation, interaction design, prototyping), and documentation and user testing.

Implement best practices in human computer interaction (HCI) and user experience across the various products and solutions in the organization's portfolio.

Coordinate with the Customer team (Marketing & Communications) to ensure brand integrity/style guidelines and consistency across offerings.

Assist in requirements analysis and usability testing.

Identify and troubleshoot UX challenges and opportunities for improvement.

An associate's degree in IT, marketing, visual design or a related field of study or applicable work experience

Skills and Abilities

Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role

Knowledge and experience in wireframe creation and related tools (Adobe or similar)

Knowledge and experience with design software like Adobe XD, Photoshop, etc.

Experience and understanding of persona identification and development

Experience in creating designs that adhere to WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards and guidelines preferred

Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Experience working in an agile development teams

Experience in requirements analysis and usability testing preferred

Experience with front end web design technology a plus (i.e., React/Material-UI)

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and ability to build and nurture relationships.
