Main Purpose:

To underwrite an Auto Physical Damage and Motor Truck Cargo E&S portfolio on behalf of CUSI in accordance with the approved business plan and defined personal authority limits.

Responsibilities:

• Desk quote individual submissions to MGAs for policies that fall outside of their assigned authority levels.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients.
• Comply with company policies and risk appetite.
• Conduct regular portfolio reviews of MGA contracts using company pricing models to ensure target loss ratios are achieved.
• Further develop company relationships with assigned MGAs and broker partners which will include conducting meetings within their offices, during conferences and in CUSI offices

Skills and Experience:

• Technical knowledge in Auto Physical Damage and Motor Truck Cargo Underwriting (ideally on a Surplus Lines basis).
• Technical knowledge in Non-Trucking Liability and Truckers General Liability.
• Individual desk underwriting / quoting experience.
• A general understanding of Portfolio Management skills.
• Ability to interpret and create graphs and tables from large volumes of data
• Interpret written guidelines for Underwriting rules and apply to real life scenarios
• Excellent client interaction skills.
• Ability to work and learn with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
