From stadiums to manufacturing facilities, power plants to hospitals, concert halls to classrooms, we handle projects of all sizes and complexity from multiple regional locations across the country.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drives a light truck to transport sheet metal, piping, plumbing, and specialty metals to and from destinations. Responsible for inspecting the truck pre- and post-trip, monitoring the maintenance and repair of the truck, and assists with the loading and unloading of cargo.

Deliveries
  • Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
  • Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons to transport materials to and from specified job sites
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
  • Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles
  • Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to the Warehouse Manager and/or General Foreman/Superintendents.
  • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.

Miscellaneous
  • Locate and prepare material for shipping
  • Inspect shipments to ensure correct order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate unloading with crafts and note field stores requisition


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • 2+ years of prior experience driving a light truck and delivering cargo
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving activities, craft jurisdiction (on union projects) for off-loading material required
  • Ability to operate a light truck in a variety of weather and traffic conditions required
  • Ability to successfully pass a DOT physical required
  • Ability to maintain a driving record that meets company standards
