The newly formed Marketing, Creative and Design group within Discovery UK is a hugely ambitious team set up to meet the cross-platform promotional and advertising needs of our growing streaming service discovery+ alongside our portfolio of popular Free-to-air UK channels.

We are now building a team to specifically focus upon evolving our streaming service discovery+ into a more commercial opportunity. We will launch to market with a wealth of creative marketing materials and therefore we seek an experienced Account Manager to support this B2B launch and work with our in house creative and design team to produce high calibre materials.

In addition, the role will support our commercial team Superpowered and be the key contact between that group and the Creative team in order to support sponsorship opportunities in general, harnessing the creative team to supply pitch collateral and ideas.

As an individual the Account Manager will have a deep knowledge of and love for popular culture in general and television in particular. Armed with knowledge of the broadcast environment and/or promotional/advertising/sponsorship experience (across all media platforms), they would be a team player whose enthusiasm and passion for what they do will bring out the very best in those around you.

They would have a good strategic brain, enabling them to partner with marketing to define project requirements and to keep projects on track strategically throughout. They will also have a good understanding of the production process and be able to communicate technical requirements to Marketing with clarity and relevance as necessary. They would be confident and unflappable, able to drive projects forward, managing stakeholders expectations and facilitating production of the best creative work to meet the brief.

Responsibilities

  • To support and deliver an effective trade launch by project managing our in-house team and working closely with the Trade Marketing Manager.
  • To receive and effectively interpret marketing briefs (challenging them where relevant) and bringing them into the Creative team ensuring all required detail is correct and comprehensive.
  • Play a leading role in project meetings - including leading brainstorms and providing creative stimulus. Owning the project.
  • Work with Creative Managers to write up and bring ideas together into pitch documents to share back to partners effectively and persuasively.
  • Work closely and support the production team to ensure they have the time they require to deliver, and represent them with stakeholders as required.

Qualifications

  • This role requires someone with a practical approach to projects
  • Experience of broadcast environment and/or promotional/advertising/sponsorship experience
  • Confident and comfortable leading presentations and meetings.
  • Ability to interrogate and interpret marketing and creative briefs to ensure clarity at the outset and to ensure projects stay on track strategically throughout.
  • Ability to keep across all aspects of campaigns: ideas, budgets, timelines, resource and delivery, and to keep all parties abreast of strategic and practical developments on a project throughout.
  • Ability to keep across delivery of multiple assets, across several projects simultaneously, across all media
  • Ability to represent the creative/production point of view to marketing and the marketing point of view to creative/production, particularly in absentia.
  • Able to keep calm in a pressurised environment and maintain the relationships.
  • Flexible and quick-thinking able to juggle priorities to meet deadlines
  • Eloquent and persuasive - able to take a leading role in developing and delivering effective creative pitches with clear strategic rationale.
  • Natural collaborator and strong team player - willingness to be proactive and get stuck in!


Essential Skills:

  • Appreciation of good creative work and ability to sell it in effectively.
  • Knowledge of production, design and post-production processes and ability to translate as required to marketing
