Job Description:

The Institute of International Education (IIE) is seeking a current student for a summer Thomas S. Johnson internship opportunity. The internships, established in honor of Thomas S. Johnson, Chairman Emeritus of IIE's Board of Trustees, are designed to expose students to the day-to-day operations of a leading international education and exchange not-for-profit that values diversity equity and inclusion. IIE internships allow students to gain insight into the field of international education, learn about career opportunities and establish a network.

TechWomen empowers, connects and supports the next generation of women leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) from Africa, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East by providing them the access and opportunity needed to advance their careers, pursue their dreams, and inspire women and girls in their communities.
Through mentorship and exchange, TechWomen strengthens participants' professional capacity, increases mutual understanding between key networks of professionals, and expands girls' interest in STEM careers by exposing them to female role models.

The selected intern will work primarily on updating the TechWomen website (www.techwomen.org) with updated and expanded content and photos reflecting the expansion of the program and return to hybrid programming and lead the team in creating individual participant profiles as part of the mentorship matching process. In addition, the intern may support with the development and testing of the TechWomen community portal. Through this project, the selected intern will gain a comprehensive overview of the TechWomen program.

Essential Functions/Final Project Overview:

• Review content on www.techwomen.org and create a project plan.
• Conduct interviews with relevant team members and review past performance reports to determine necessary content and image updates.
• Manage participant profile process, resulting in approximately 108 public-facing professional profiles to be used in the mentorship matching process.
• Carryout updates to www.techwomen.org and present final product to TechWomen team.

• Summer internships will take place between late May 2023 and early August 2023.
• Internships may be 8-10 weeks in duration up to 35 hours per week with core working hours 9am - 5pm EST but subject to flexibility.

• $17.00 per hour.

Job Requirements:

Educational Requirement:

• A multidisciplinary undergraduate/graduate student matriculated at an accredited college or university.

• Knowledge of and experience with WordPress required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• High attention to detail.
