The Direct-to-Consumer Group is a technology company within the Warner Bros. Discovery family of brands. We are building a global streaming video platform (OTT) and a suite of applications to support delivering compelling content from Warner Bros. Discoverys library to our customers worldwide using modern container-based microservices operated on AWS. Our platform covers search, catalogue, video transcoding, personalization, global subscriptions, and much more. We build customer-focused user experiences ranging from classic lean-back viewing to interactive learning applications. We support our customers devices, including connected TVs, web, mobile phones, tablets, and consoles. We deliver content customers love through our various Warner Bros. Discovery-owned bands: HBO Max, Discovery+, Food Network, Golf TV, MotorTrend, Eurosport, and many more. This is a growing, global engineering group providing critical tier-1 infrastructure for delivering Warner Bros. Discoverys promise to our customers.


In this position, you will join engineering teams delivering digital and direct to consumer products, on mobile apps and websites, for the Lifestyle Brand portfolio of brands including Magnolia, Food Network Kitchen, Food Network, HGTV, Discovery, and TLC. You will oversee the planning, development, and timely delivery of projects with positive outcomes, keeping stakeholders aligned on what to expect and when from start to finish.
  • Scope & Complexity: You contribute to your teams success by ensuring that the right software is shipped successfully and on time. You help drive resolution of complex technical problems by identifying simple and straightforward solutions.
  • Decision Making: When you encounter problems, you are able to drive their resolution more often than not, and when you cannot, you know who and how best to engage. When confronted with discordant views, you foster constructive dialogue and seek resolutions in a professional manner. 3. Execution: You get a lot done. You communicate clearly, analyze technical designs, organize project timelines, secure commitments, manage risks, identify the critical path, spot edge cases, triage bugs, review metrics & data, and monitor launch operations. You switch effortlessly between these modes, adapting yourself to the needs of your workstreams.
  • Operations: You apply processes and standards thoughtfully, identifying the right amount of process and structure to achieve the correct outcome with the least overhead.
  • Influence: You influence your team through data to guide roadmap priorities for which features to build, software design changes, and operational excellence improvements. You have deep technical and business understanding of your teams services.
  • Communication: Your written and verbal communication skills are exemplary, concise and to the point, making you the initial point of contact for business and technical stakeholders.

  • Qualifications

  • Former software engineer or otherwise have a deeply technical background. You can lead and participate in technical conversations with software engineers and understand complex technical requirements .
  • 5+ years experience in successful technology program delivery and management through each of these stages: initiation, planning, execution, tracking, and closing. Experience must demonstrate - Consistent delivery of the right software on time with internal team dependencies. - Ability to successfully manage multiple projects, in varying stages.

  • - Experience in managing issues and risks including the ability to quantify impact, weigh options, identify the best path forward, align stakeholders, and drive to success.

    - Success in identifying and influencing impactful process improvements.

    - Success in leading and influencing teams to positive outcomes and continuous improvement, even when the team is not under your direct management.

    - Ability to influence and lead teams to breakdown work into smaller deliverables for quick feedback loops and continuous value delivery.

    - Clear and concise verbal and written communication with a passion for keeping stakeholders informed on what to expect and when, with an ability to vary style and level of detail as appropriate to the audience.

    - Proactively driving for clarity where there is ambiguity.

    - Leadership in helping teams quickly and effectively adapt to change.
  • Solid understanding of software development methods like CI/CD, Agile Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, etc. and can apply the right tool or technique to the situation.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Smartsheet or other project management tools. 5. Project management or agile certification such as PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM is a plus. 6. Must have the legal right to work in the country hired.
