As the team lead for Web Services at NKF, you will partner with a variety of stakeholders to translate ideas into impactful digital experiences. You will build and maintain high-quality digital products to support NKFs mission and constituents.

This is a full-time, remote position.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the Drupal 7 to 9 web migration project for kidney.org. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, manage expectations, and communicate progress. Manage external vendors as needed.
• Oversee the development of feature additions on kidney.org with a strong eye for detail.
• Clearly communicate technical challenges to those with less technical knowledge.
• Provide estimates and timelines for web development projects.
• Be the technical subject matter expert for kidney.org. Lead discussions around workflow management, process, and design systems.
• Act as project manager for complex, multi-year technical projects.
• Manage a team of 3-5 Drupal developers/project managers. You need to have a player-coach mindset (this is a great fit for someone who wants to get into management but doesnt want to give up writing code!)
• Enforce code and design standards for maintainability, usability, performance, and accessibility.
• Contribute to product and technical documentation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

• This is a mid-level management position with an expectation of senior-level Drupal skills plus soft personal and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education plus professional experience required.
• 10+ years of experience in Drupal/web application development.
• 3+ years experience leading teams and/or mentoring junior staff.
• Mastery of web fundamentals, like HTML/CSS, strong knowledge of Javascript (including jQuery).
• Strong working knowledge of PHP and MySQL.
• Experience with Drupal 7 to Drupal 8/9 migrations.
• A problem-solving mindset with a passion for software development.
• Experience with designing and building responsive, mobile-first web pages.
• Experience interacting with designs using tools like Figma and Sketch.
• Experience with Git and GitHub.
• Experience with Pantheon.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to handle difficult conversations with tact and grace.
• Familiarity with platforms like Google Analytics, Salesforce, HotJar, and Optimizely.
