The Communication Studies program at Stockton University invites applications for a full-time (10-month) Non-Tenure Track Teaching Specialist in Public Relations & Advertising (Strategic Communication), to begin September 1, 2021.

We are seeking applicants who bring an integrated strategic communication approach to public relations and/or advertising. The ideal candidate will

  • Design and teach undergraduate courses for the Public Relations & Advertising curriculum, to contribute to the Communication Studies core and the General Studies curricula, and to the development of a Strategic Communication minor
  • Develop and supervise the PR & Advertising track internship
  • Serve as a preceptor to students
  • Provide service to the university, community, and profession
  • Perform other duties as designated by the Dean or the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
  • Support Stockton University's diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission

Workload is equivalent to 32 TCH per year split between teaching and non-teaching assignments.



Required Qualifications:

  • M.A. in Public Relations, Advertising, Strategic Communication, Mass Communication, Communication Studies, or a closely related discipline is required by date of appointment
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: social media strategies and analytics for public relations/advertising/strategic communication, digital publication design, strategic visual communication, and crisis communication management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant professional experience in public relations/strategic communication or advertising is preferred
