The Strategy and Market Intelligence Analyst is responsible for supporting business teams in North America (NAM) and the Global Market Intelligence (GMI) teams across our international organization. This is a well-seasoned market research analyst role and as an individual contributor in the organization, the role requires engagement and participation in many cross-functional teams. Sound knowledge of market analysis techniques and a good understanding of the organization's strategy, products and market fundamentals are required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide insights to the North American Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene (PE) business teams with analysis of short-term and long-term market dynamics
  • Support the broader Global Market Intelligence function with monthly Global Market Intelligence and S&OP calls, the annual planning cycle as well as with the monthly and annual trend and budget (PA) price projections
  • Support and develop presentations for the business on strategic topics and market/business intelligence analysis
  • Deliver NAM PP/PE market insights and trend analysis to the business teams across the globe on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Work with Global Market intelligence team in the C3/PP, C2/PP and Feedstocks team to manage, develop and monitor key market intelligence insights for the business.
  • Attend weekly/monthly GMI team meetings communicating and sharing market insights and analysis.
  • Maintain internal price forecast model and coordinate with other GMI teams to ensure timely delivery of price deck to key users.
  • Support the business team in all regions with ad hoc presentations as necessary, present market scenario to help develop strategy and track market direction
  • Member of the Global Market Intelligence team that develops and communicate the Market Outlook for C2/PE, C3/PP and Feedstocks Analysis/Presentations to NAM organization and Braskem SA globally
  • Member of various cross-functional teams that develop and execute the Business Strategy in support of our strategic goals
  • Manage and implement special projects in the business that will enhance and improve market intelligence reporting and analysis functions


  • BS Degree in Engineering, Finance or Business Administration is required with 5 years experience
  • Effectively collaborate with colleagues from all departments including commercial, feedstocks, Corporate Strategy & Market Intelligence and all members of the Braskem America, Braskem Idesa and Braskem SA leadership team
  • Ability to extract, organize, analyze, and report data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions with the use of several consultant tools (IHS, PIERS, ICIS, Platt , etc)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Power BI and Access skills;
  • Experience with Finance and Forecasting models;
  • Experience with fundamental market analysis methodologies (ie. supply/demand, price setting mechanisms etc)
  • Must have good analysis skills, effective communication skills, the ability to interact well with others, and the ability to provide information to senior management in a concise format.

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • MBA
