The Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases / Colette Lamothe-Galette Community Health Worker Institute ELC/CLG Coordinator is a New Jersey statewide position that will report directly to Director of Public Health Programs in collaboration with a NJDOH/FHS Supervisor. The Statewide Coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day operations and reporting with the NJDOH-based ELC and the CLG programmatic coordinators. The ELC/CLG Statewide Coordinator will oversee the 3 Regional Coordinators and ELC/CLG regional teams. The ELC/CLG Statewide Coordinator will also provide oversight in the management and facilitation of program development, oversee data tracking to enhance project quality, allowing for alignment across the CLG/ELC grants.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee curriculum development partnerships
  • Ensure enrolled CHW students complete related technical instruction of 144 hours
  • Support additional training as appropriate
  • Work in concert with related partners to track enrolled CLG CHW student matriculation
  • Partner with CLG Employers to ensure enrolled CHW students complete on-the-job training of 1000/2000 hours
  • Establish and oversee CHW attendance at monthly/quarterly virtual or in-person meetings
  • Partner with identified contractors to house and document CHW student information and matriculation
  • Partner with additional agencies as appropriate on sustainability planning
  • Set priorities for managing the regional field implementation of the ELC grant
  • Convene/direct all regional meetings
  • Oversee regional community outreach
  • Oversee regional sub-contracting
  • Develop Request for Proposal (RFP) for regional sub-grantees
  • Coordinate regional submission of monthly and expenditure progress reports to NJDOH ELC programmatic coordinator
  • Oversee regional purchases of program equipment and supplies
  • Coordinate maintenance of records and files
  • Plan and coordinate special events/activities
  • Work in partnership with Director of Public Health Programs to ensure overall proper budget allocation
  • Meet on a monthly basis with NJDOH ELC and CLG programmatic lead to discuss ELC and CLG program updates
  • Submit monthly progress reports to NJDOH ELC and CLG programmatic lead separately
  • Submit quarterly expenditure reports for CLG and ELC separately
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Master's Degree strongly preferred and requisite experience of 10+ years
  • Project Management/coordination experience and ability to engage in the community, to include diverse and multicultural populations
  • Experience in managing multiple program components simultaneously
  • Experience working with CHW or other outreach programs, strongly preferred
  • Experience with community organizing
  • Cross-cultural knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Expertise in population or public health
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • MS Office Experience
  • Ability to utilize electronic and virtual platforms
  • Experience in grants management, goal setting, service delivery, program evaluation and performance monitoring
  • Experience managing and maintaining technical budgets
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Valid driver's license, current insurance policy and car

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to see to read documents and hear well enough to communicate with others
  • Must be able to write, type on a computer, and use a telephone
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Additional requirements to be determined with input from Director and HR

Work Environment:

Travels regularly to sites where traffic, weather, and other environmental conditions may be encountered; otherwise works in a climate-controlled professional office environment generally free from hazards and other adverse working conditions
