Overview

This position will be responsible for assisting in gathering, tracking, auditing, and closeout of Safety and Operational Findings and Corrective Action Plans. Event investigations will be done at the direction of the SRC and in conjunction with other operational departments.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Company procedures as outlined in manuals, bulletins, and memos.
  • Conduct and assist with safety investigations
  • Ensures safety audits/inspections are conducted according to established programs
  • Conducts internal evaluations/audits of operational divisions
  • Identify positive and negative safety trends
  • Solicit and process safety improvement suggestions
  • Evaluate existing and emerging technologies and provide recommendations on integration with current Safety business systems and best practices
  • Assist in developing and maintaining company safety awareness
  • Build relationships with internal customers by learning operational challenges they face and reporting to upper management corrective action plans where feasible
  • Write reports based on empirical safety data and operational evaluations/findings
  • Produce recurring reporting and project deliverables, including ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Provide timely advice and assistance on ground and aviation safety matters
  • Review corrective actions, responses to inspections, and internal evaluation findings for adequacy
  • Maintain an on-call status during off duty hours for screening of safety related events and investigation initiation
  • Industry safety data comparisons
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher; preferably aviation or mathematics focused
  • Knowledge of Part 121 airline procedures; preferably holds FAA certification (Pilot, Dispatcher, or A&P)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must be self-starter, able to work with little supervision in fast paced environment
  • Travel will be required up to 50%, must be able to travel without restrictions
  • Must successfully complete specialized Company training (Loadmaster, etc.)
  • 2-4 years of Airline Safety or Internal/External Audit experience preferred
  • Legal ability to reside and work in the United States
