Overview:

This position is based in San Jose, CA, USA, but will collaborate directly with Marketing organizations in Samsung Foundrys Korea headquarters (DSK). The role will have responsibility for semiconductor forecast modeling and foundry TAM modeling by technology node and foundry customer.

Specifically, the responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Track electronics industry/segment market Track market outlook for key electronics industry segments and semiconductor applications. Work with Segment marketing team and DSK.
• Establish & maintain process transition roadmap database by segment/application. Work with Segment marketing team, account sales team and DSK to develop technology roadmap and process technology transition.
• Establish & maintain semiconductor market modeling-IC TAM in each product segment and foundry customer, in particular U.S. market.
• Establish & maintain foundry market TAM modeling-wafer & IC packaging TAM, including revenue & wafer shipment by product, process technology and foundry customer, in particular U.S. market.
• Participate in select industry events and track customer key development to sense and help drive up-to-date technology trend and market outlook.
• Present analysis to key executives based on data and sensing results

Externally, this position will work directly with 3rd party research analysts for market trend sensing, and will participate in various industry consortiums, forums and events. Internally this position will work closely with technology marketing, and worldwide sales and business development teams. Travel to Samsung Foundry Headquarters in Korea is required.

The successful candidate is expected to have strong analytics, finance/forecast modeling skills and solid understanding of foundry business and competition landscape. The candidate should be knowledgeable in wafer process technologies, foundry customers and IC packaging business. Additionally the candidate should possess strong interpersonal, and both verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years of hi-tech industry experience, with direct exposure to market analysis, business planning, or technology roadmap, at a HPC/smartphone solutions, Foundry, IC Fabless or IDM product company.
• Strong modeling capability with finance knowledge in market analysis
• Highly knowledgeable in foundry business and wafer technology process
• Good business acumen and strategic thinking
