This position supports warehouse and distribution activities at the Amgen, Rhode Island facility.

The Senior Material Coordinator responsibilities will include:
  • Perform various warehouse and distribution activities including: receiving, shipping, picking, packaging, transport, and cycle count following current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Materials will include cGMP Raw Materials, Drug Substance, general supplies and laboratory materials.
  • Follow all assigned GMP Standard Operating Procedures and comply with various regulations including OSHA, US Customs and FAA, including obtaining certifications to ship as required by DOT, IATA and IMDG.
  • Drive powered industrial vehicles (fork trucks, electric pallet jacks, etc.) as well as the company's commercial box trucks (CDL not required). Training on these vehicles will be provided to the employee by the company.
  • Perform work in environments with temperatures as low as -30C.


Working hours need to be flexible ranging from 6:30am to 6:30pm and may float between weekdays and weekends.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree and 4 years of warehousing, transportation, supply chain, or related industry experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 6 years of warehousing, transportation, supply chain, or related industry experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Previous warehouse or distribution experience within a Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or Chemical Industry
  • Previous powered industrial vehicle experience
  • DOT/IATA/IMDG certification or ability to obtain
  • Previous knowledge and experience with Lean Principles and Operations Continuous Improvement
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Able and willing to drive powered industrial vehicles (fork trucks, electric pallet jacks, etc.) as well as the company's commercial box trucks (CDL not required). Training on these vehicles will be provided to the employee by the company.
  • Technical writing skills associated with creating/maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, Non-conformances, and Corrective Action / Preventative Actions (CAPA)
  • Independent collaboration with outside resources
