Full-time position working out of Progeny Systems (https://www.progeny.net), headquartered in Manassas VA. Candidate will work on a fast-paced integrated product development team supporting a fielded Production System with Signal Processing capabilities as a focus.

This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance and work on site in a classified lab area full time.

We are seeking a highly skilled signal processing software engineer with a strong background in signal processing algorithm design, development and analysis to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing solutions for a variety of signal processing applications. You will work closely with a team of software engineers and signal processing experts to design, develop, and test software solutions that meet our customers' needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Design and implement signal processing algorithms in Matlab

Analyze algorithm performance and create reports & presentations for customer review

Development, Integration and Test of signal processing applications in a tactical system

Optimize software performance for large-scale datasets and real-time processing

Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code

Participate in code reviews and ensure that code meets high-quality standards

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Skills

Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and MATLAB

Experience with signal processing algorithms, such as filtering, Fourier transforms, beamforming, resampling and signal detection

Familiarity with signal processing tools and libraries, such as Matlab Signal Processing Toolbox and Intel IPP

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with agile development methodologies is a plus

Knowledge of and experience using Linux

Desired Skills

Knowledge of and experience with Navy Sonar Systems

Knowledge of and experience using Jira and TestRail

Knowledge of and experience using Hashicorp Consul

Knowledge of and experience working in virtualized environments such as VMWare, VirtualBox, Podman & Docker

Knowledge of and experience using Git & Gitlab

Education/Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

3+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on signal processing

Security Clearance

This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
