Position Summary Our Massachusetts office is seeking a candidate with strong knowledge of e nvironmental chemistry to provide support on environmental litigation projects.Primary duties include providing litigation technical support and assisting in on-going environmental litigation and settlement activities to determine liability, apportionment and cost allocation and cost recovery.
Position Requirements Required
- Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry or Environmental Engineering with an in-depth understanding of physico-chemical processes in environmental and/or engineered systems
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Organized and has the ability to evaluate/prioritize large amounts of information at once
- Experience writing or co-authoring professional publications
- Ability to handle multiple project assignments and meet aggressive deadlines
Preferred
- At least 10 years of work experience in environmental consulting or other related professional experience
- Familiar with compliance of response actions with federal and state regulations
- Skilled in many of the following areas: review, quantitative analysis, and interpretation of scientific data; historical document research; chemical/topic fingerprinting; and statistical analysis
- Familiar with data validation processes
Essential Duties
- Provide in-depth scientific analyses supporting expert testimony for litigation
- Assist in large document production evaluations
- Evaluate complex technical issues in dispute during litigation
- Prepare written documents and demonstratives
- Support formulating expert opinions for reports, depositions and trial
- Investigations of private, commercial and industrial properties
- Interact and coordinate with environmental/legal clients
- Perform data validation for environmental projects
