As Senior Program Associate you will be integrally involved in keeping major programs running smoothly by assisting with project management, including task oversight and management of workplans, deliverables, and staffing. You'll use your organization talents and big-picture thinking to create standard operating procedures, monitor and evaluate project performance, and conduct quality control. People skills will also be of great use as you manage and build relationships with subcontractors and consultants. Given the scope of the programs AHP manages, being detail-oriented will be a benefit as you help develop and manage budgets and attend to any fiscal concerns and details.

This position is ideal for you if your skills also include writing, research, evaluation, and training/technical assistance. You will have many opportunities to use your creativity to create print and online materials related to projects/programs (e.g., reports, PPTs, website content, announcements). You will dive deep in the subject matter as you conduct in-depth research, key informant interviews and literature reviews. You'll create evaluation questions and data-gathering instruments to help the team better understand client needs, gaps in knowledge, strengths/challenges, etc., and develop measurement-based practices to evaluate outcomes And you will have the chance to help others understand the information you gather by compiling, summarizing, and analyzing data.

Another aspect of your role will be to organize and lead meeting and assist with training, and technical assistance activities. Activities will range from planning agendas, webinar, and trainings to facilitating meetings, developing curriculum and training materials, hosting/moderating trainings and giving guidance to speakers about content and presentation. It's a great chance to showcase your subject matter expertise, training skills, and educational knowledge, while learning new skills.

Your other main role will be to promotes new business by co-authoring proposals and external communication materials, contributing your ideas to strategic marketing plans, and identifying opportunities to forge partnerships with outside organizations and subject matter experts.

Wondering whether to apply? Do you have:

Education, Training, and Experience

Candidates for this position must possess a bachelor's degree. A master's degree in social work, behavioral health, public health, or similar field is strongly preferred. Professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement.

For this position, we also seek candidates with at least five years of management and supervising experience, which includes managing complex processes and procedures, managing grants or contracts, and directing and evaluating staff performance

Finally, because most of the work will be on projects in the state of California, experience in CA will be a plus.
