The Senior Manager, Data Services will manage various aspects the National Kidney Foundations Salesforce application. This includes administration and management of our constituent database, cross-platform integration and systems, and development and management of a broad variety of reporting tools, and software trainings. In conjunction with the Director, the Senior Manager, Data Services will help to maintain the current data operations and Salesforce instance as well as spearhead new enhancements to the data model and processes.


  • Salesforce NPSP administration, configuration and data management tasks based on input from key business stakeholders.
  • Optimize functionality of databases by staying up-to-date on system improvements and by researching apps to identify possible areas of innovation.
  • Gather, create and document current and future business process flows. Create clear, concise and complete functional specifications & requirement documents.
  • Fulfill ongoing service requests in the Salesforce environment
  • Design and lead in the fulfillment of enhancements to the Salesforce environment
  • Configure complex Salesforce Custom Objects, Fields, Workflows, Approval Processes, Rules, Page Layouts, etc. as needed
  • Determine users needs and best practices for data visibility (including default dashboards and reporting templates)
  • Design and build Form Assembly forms for constituent feedback
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve user issues with the application
  • Design trainings to boost staff cooperation within the Salesforce instance
  • Articulate, document, and promote best user practices including strategies for monitoring and maintaining the completeness and accuracy of records.
  • Perform additional duties as required.


  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum two years of hands-on Salesforce administration experience. Familiarity with NPSP and Salesforce certification preferred.
  • Foundational insight of business processes and ability to solve problems by using core Salesforce functionality, including but not limited to custom objects, workflows, profiles, sandboxes, and AppExchange applications.
  • Proficiency with CRM/fundraising software platforms, including a deep understanding of key CRM architectural concepts, and how they influence design decisions and the development approach.
  • Exceptional ability to create and upkeep comprehensive Reports & Dashboards
  • Proficiency with SQL, SOQL, VisualForce and Excel for data manipulation and complex custom reports preferred.
  • Ability to develop and deliver application usage/best practice trainings on an ongoing basis
  • Passion for data quality and data integrity

  • Excellent interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills.
  • Must be assertive, confident and project a positive presence.


Must have unimpeachable integrity and trustworthiness while possessing a high degree of tact, discretion and professionalism. Verbal and written communication skills will be used daily. Maintain effectiveness even under pressure. Competency in use of a multiple line telephone, personal computer, fax machine, photocopier and other standard office equipment. Flexible to work minimal evenings and weekends when needed. Flexible for minimal business travel as required. (Estimate: 3 trips per year).
