The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst reports to the Assistant Director, Cybersecurity & Network Architecture, and maintains and supports the Board's information protection strategy and provides day-to-day oversight, analytic evaluation and management of data security, policy development, deployment, risk management, awareness training, regulatory compliance, third party vendor security assessment, information security operations, and application security.

What you will do:

  • Assist in the day-to-day oversight and management of data security through the analysis of escalated security service tickets while determining a cause and seeking a resolution.
  • Oversee the deployment and upkeep of the Security Information Event and Management tool, while analyzing aggregated data, monitoring, and responding to potential threats.
  • Support user access process for new users, terminations, and position changes, analyze required access controls, hardware needs, and support user access administration tasks for the Board's applications.
  • Support security changes and system upgrades for PeopleSoft and Infor Lawson, Salesforce, SharePoint, Benefits Connect and other applications to ensure required security controls are in place and provide recommendations to resolve security issues.
  • Assist the cybersecurity audit process through the creation, maintenance, and updating of procedures to assure adherence to policy.
  • Provide technical support for the Cisco VOIP, ensuring phone and voicemail systems are operational, and engage with external vendors for complex technical solutions.
  • Create and maintain cybersecurity and social engineering user education and communication tools and assist in the maintenance, implementation, and upkeep of email-based security programs and features to help protect the Board from unwanted access or breaches.
  • Analyze third part tools and security assessments during the process of software acquisitions.

What you need to succeed in the role:

  • Security information and event management (SIEM) or equivalent certification with Rapid7 is preferred.
  • A willingness to seek or retain a security certification, such as CompTIA Security +, CISA, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Data aggregation, Log and Data Analysis, Disaster Recovery, BCP, and Business Impact Analysis.
  • Functional understanding of application, database, physical and system security and related computer technology and concepts.
  • Strong understanding of PeopleSoft People Tools, Windows network, and MS Active Directory security, and email systems.
  • A high degree of competence analyzing user needs, providing solutions, and resolving security issues.
  • An ability to stay current and maintain a level of expertise with technology advances in cybersecurity via seminars, literature, and formal training.
  • An ability to work overtime as required, as well as nights and weekends.
