GENERAL SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Educational Content Strategy, is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the National Kidney Foundations (NKF) patient and healthcare professional educational content strategy. Ongoing audit of NKF educational content, evaluation of evolving content needs, review of content performance metrics, and coordination of content curation, development, and dissemination are integral to this role. The Senior Director, Educational Content Strategy participate on the cross-functional team implementing Content Governance at the NKF.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will support the development and implementation of a Content Strategy at NKF:

  • Lead educational Content Strategy activities:
    • Facilitate the development of the organizations content strategy including identifying content goals, frameworks, and specific deliverables.
    • Conduct an organizational content audit and implement a curation strategy.
    • Identify, conduct, and analyze research (e.g., cultural, competitive) as helpful to identifying breakthrough insights and implications regarding content strategy.
    • Implement a formal process to measure and report metrics associated with content, utilization, and effectiveness, and track and report content success metrics and make strategic recommendations on new approaches and tactics to re-purpose content.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute content marketing plans, including content identities/voice, editorial calendars, and content playbook for all educational content.
    • Articulate a knowledge map illustrating the content strategy at across the spectrum of kidney disease.
    • Partner with a cross-functional team to support and implement drive SEO/SEM strategies to optimize educational content performance.
    • Identify the appropriate channels for content and integrate with the broader organization including social, digital, experience, etc., and partner with other teams to develop structured content dissemination plans.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine the relevant content formats (e.g., short- vs. long-form, video vs. podcast). Partner with our Technology team to identify the appropriate applications of technologies.
    • Lead ideation and development of content in partnership with our Creative teams
    • Establish the parameters for ongoing content audit and curation to ensure that all content on www.kidney.org is medically accurate, current, timely, and accessible.
    • Participate in ongoing content governance activities.
    • Introduce innovative content strategy methods, including tools, partnerships, research, frameworks.
    • Expand the overall profile of Content Strategy within the organization.
    • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant area
  • 5 years content development and strategy experience (healthcare experience preferred).
  • Ability to inspire Creative teams.
  • Comfort and confidence with emerging forms of content, channels, and technology.
  • Strong collaboration skills and flexibility with different ways to work is required.
  • Exceptional communication skills on the page and in presentation.
  • Curiosity, passion, collaborative spirit, solutions orientation, and work ethic to deliver.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred
