GENERAL SUMMARY

The Director, CME Grants and Program Development will ensure that NKF is positioned to be a leader in providing the highest quality CME/CE programs that incorporate the latest industry trends in; program delivery formats, audience generation, data collection and outcomes reporting. He/She will manage the entire development and submission process of all CME/CE proposals, including; Corporate Supported Symposia at NKFs Annual Spring Clinical Meetings (SCM), standalone live, enduring web based or live streamed educational programming, company specific Request for Proposals (RFPs), and other independent medical grant opportunities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The Director, CME Grants and Program Development performs the following functions, including but not limited to:

  • Research patient outcome gaps, healthcare providers unmet learning needs, and the pharmaceutical industrys current support trends.
  • Develop corporate symposium topic list for the SCM. Develop and submit CME/CE proposals includes working with the appropriate internal teams or external educational partners (Medical Education Companies) to manage all aspects of the submission process, including; proposal development, budget management, generating payments, and all reconciliations.
  • Identify opportunities for new CME/CE initiatives, including request for proposals (RFP).
  • In collaboration with the Director, CME and the Education department, manage the CME/CE proposal process: topic deliberation, proposal development strategy, choice of adult learning methodology and delivery format, submit final draft proposal for internal review and approval, create all other necessary documents and content as needed; submit the finalized proposals.
  • Develop new and innovative CME/CE initiatives, program formats, and delivery methods for NKFs CME/CE activities in collaboration with the Education and CME departments; develop descriptions of the activities for use in proposals.
  • Develop budgets for all CME/CE activities including corporate symposia, enduring webcasts, RFPs, and other CME/CE activities as required. Work with other NKF departments to develop and enhance budget management/reconciliation systems to meet Joint Accreditation guidelines and other regulatory requirements.
  • Work with the CME department to develop and file learning outcome assessment reports for approved and completed CME/CE activities as required per CME agreement.
  • Remain current on Joint Accreditation standards, government agencies regulation on CME, adult learning methodology, education design, advances in technology.
  • Remain current on innovative marketing and promotion methods for CME/CE to develop new audience generation strategies for NKFs CME activities; work with other departments to improve the promotion, data collection, analysis, and learning outcome reporting for the programs.
  • Performs additional duties, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university is required. Masters degree with CE/CME experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5-8 years scientific, health-related or association educational experience.
  • Excellent budgeting, organization and analytical skills, with superb attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to create proposals and budgets that effectively communicate NKF program needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to direct team members and interface with internal and external professional staff, volunteers, sponsors and other business associates.
  • Must be a self-starter, goal-directed, highly meticulous, and an independent worker who can prioritize and perform multiple tasks within a deadline driven environment.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook.
  • Ability to think pro-actively, multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexible for business travel and overnight stay.
