Senior Associate, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (Hybrid)

Position Overview
Reporting to the vice president for inclusion, diversity, and equity, the new IDE senior associate will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of project management processes for various components of Pew's internal and external IDE work. This individual will support the management of all IDE related leadership education and training programs; content development; cohort-based learning experiences; and will support our IDE interns and champions; In addition, this individual will support the research and evaluation of IDE work. The incumbent will also partner with the IDE leadership team on the long-term growth and expansion of the programmatic elements of the department.

The position reports to the vice president, inclusion, diversity, equity and will be based in Pew's Washington, DC office, and is eligible for 60% telework.


  • Monitors IDE related project scopes, timelines, and implementation for components of the internal culture change work, as well as its external IDE programming
  • Serves as point of contact for various programming parts to internal and external stakeholders; responds to general inquiries; helps troubleshoot issues and manages all Zoom, Outlook, and Google hosted meetings, projects, and issues, and supports the development of IDE related content internally and externally
  • Coordinate the logistics and scheduling of cross-functional teams for meetings to include setting agendas, documenting decisions, and tracking assignments
  • Plans and implements events related to IDE programming including training programs, meetings, annual meeting sessions both in-person and virtual
  • Provides support for ongoing measurement and evaluation and analysis of results to ensure accountability and effectiveness, tracks tasks and deadlines and communicates timelines and due dates
  • Manages (in partnership with the IDE team) a broad, growing portfolio of IDE related programming (e.g., webinars and trainings to multi-year initiatives)
  • Supports interns and diversity champions, and supports internal and external facilitation of IDE sessions, trainings, and workshops while coordinating all event pre-planning
  • Compiles and distributes informational emails regarding training and programmatic opportunities, as well as drafts and distributes newsletters, blog posts and announcements to the organization and relevant stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Four years minimum experience, preferably in a non-profit, higher education or related field
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Strong problem solving, and be an effective communicator, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated skill to design IDE related content, curriculum, and programming
  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and is detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in the standard and advanced use of the following applications and programs is preferred: Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Teams, Zoom, Dropbox, MailChimp, Mural, ASANA, JotForm

Occasional travel, including business meetings and conferences as required.
