The Sales Operations Manager is a critical role at the heart of the organization to ensure seamless day to day operations that support the delivery of our ambitious strategic plan. The scope extends across all channels of our business, including On Premise & Modern Trade Sales teams and E-Commerce. This position marries strong analytical skills with a disciplined approach to project management (PMO) to drive the agenda of key projects and initiatives cross-functionally. This position is accountable for leading in the consolidation of key business updates with senior leaders, owning tracking of all strategic initiatives, supporting Field Sales via fact-based analysis and dashboards, and partnering closely with Business Intelligence to build a comprehensive data and report infrastructure that will drive growth. This role interacts with all levels and functions, including the President and CFO, as well as our partners at headquarters, Italy.

Job Responsibilities

Lead in the development of key, omni-channel updates (30%)

  • Own the companys comprehensive Initiatives Tracking Tool
  • Consolidate and build weekly executive level status updates in partnership with Business Unit and functional leaders
  • Consolidate and build monthly/quarterly executive level status updates, in partnership with entire leadership team, to support discussions with Headquarters Executive Committee

Support Field Sales team with reliable, fact based, business driving analysis and support tools (35%)

  • Create, publish and work with Field Sales partners on Sales Dashboards (Shipments data, IRI, NPD, Customer Portals, etc.) & Activity Trackers
  • Own the inventory analysis and Demand Planning support for key Distributor customers (UNFI, Kehe)
  • Maintain up to date calendars on key dates for sales teams: Modern Trade (Customer resets, New Item, etc.) & On Premise

Continuously improve and build out our Business Intelligence capabilities (35%)

  • Support the Business Intelligence Manager: create, update and distribute comprehensive business scorecards, including depletions, KPIs, attrition/acquisition, National Accounts performance, competitive assessment, etc.
  • Partner closely with Field Sales team to review performance trends and identify concrete growth opportunities
  • Evolve the monthly Sales Forecast & Planning process by leading in the development & execution of a rolling 12 mos discipline
  • Manage tracking for Sales Incentives programs and National Accounts rebates
  • Update and Maintain Price Lists
  • Complete Ad hoc Reporting and Requests in a timely and efficient manner


  • 4 year college degree (Business or Marketing major preferred) MBA is a plus but not mandatory
  • +5 years experience in sales/strategic planning, Brand Management, business insights, category management or similar role, preferably across both Foodservice and Retail Channels
  • Proven experience and success with Continuous Improvement and Project Management tools, Cross functional effectiveness
  • Strong Skills in Brand Management, strategic planning, creative, writing, analysis, presentation, digital, and project management.
  • Excellent computer skills specifically with Microsoft Products: Superior Excel Skills | Excel Power User (Pivots, Nested formulas, macros, etc), PowerPoint: must be comfortable creating sales presentations, Word, Publisher, Access is a plus
  • JDE power user (Familiarity with applicable software and data sources (JDE, VIP, CRM, Trade Mgmt, IRI/Nielsen, CREST, etc)
  • Self-starter, organized, analytical and detailed oriented, ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills, open listener and communicator and team player including an expert at progressing an agenda in a cross functional the ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic work environment
