* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.

POSITION SUMMARY
The APG RN Clinical Quality Specialist is responsible for providing clinical expertise and direction to enhance the quality and safety in the AtlantiCare Physician Group Practices. This position supports regulatory compliance with governing bodies to ensure compliance and recognition standards (CDC, NJ DOH etc.).



This positions supports compliance with organizational policies and strategic initiatives, including but not limited to: infection prevention, environment of care, medical device maintenance, antibiotic stewardship, respecting choices, medication management, ambulatory formulary and medication ordering in collaboration with our pharmacy, Vaccine For Children compliance and NJIIS registry submission.



The APG RN Clinical Quality Specialist works under the supervision of Director of Nursing in Ambulatory and is a clinical partner for APG Service Lines (Primary Care, Specialty Areas Cardiology, Vascular, Endocrinology, Surgery, Rheumatology, OB/GYN, Neurology, ENT, GYN/ONC, and Urgent Care. This position completes or updates policies and protocol, monitors and completes training as indicated to support compliance. This position participates in performance improvement projects for APG.



Participates in orienting new staff to quality, safety and compliance initiatives related to care in the practices, including by not limited to: compliance with Board of Medical Examiners regulations, written orders for medication administration, escribing, telephonic refill process, safety reporting and review of APG overall scorecard. This role supports the skills for clinical staff competency to ensure the Medical Assistants can perform at the highest level of their scope of practice. The Specialist is a role model for their sites and promotes culture of safety in their practices.



The APG RN Clinical Quality Specialist is an ambulatory nurse who addresses the needs of the population by supporting the practices and develops appropriate plans of care for the populations.



QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor's in nursing or Allied Health required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. National Certification in specialty preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 3 years clinical experience; previous quality management experience preferred. Clinical experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and presentations.



Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.



PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the clinical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.



WORK ENVIRONMENT
Requires the ability to walk, stand and reach a majority of the time. Intact vision and speech as well as sufficient hearing is also required. This position requires driving to practice locations through out the work day as needed. The essential functions for this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.



REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
