Are you interested in starting a career in Mortgage Lending? If so, we are looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual for our Mortgage Operations department!

JOB SUMMARY: The Residential Mortgage Loan Specialist is responsible for assisting the Residential Mortgage Loan Processor in processing and documenting residential mortgage loans as well as Home Equity loans and lines of credit from application to post closing. They will also provide generalized support to the mortgage operations staff. Implicit in the job function is being a collaborative team player with strong relationship management, customer service and communications skills.

The Residential Mortgage Loan Specialist position is designed to provide sufficient training to eventually move into the Residential Mortgage Loan Processor position. The individual must work in accordance with organization's values.


As directed by Residential Mortgage Loan Processor, review files submitted by originators for accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data, correct data input errors and/or verify information as submitted.

Responsible for timely and accurate processing of loans originated for sale to investors such as gathering additional documentation from borrower, requesting written verification, ordering appraisal, title, and flood insurance as applicable.

Assist with review of title commitment, clearing any irregularities, documenting any requests by title company such as name affidavits, marital status, etc., to ensure a successful and error-free closing experience.

Assist in coordination of closing, funding, and any post-closing follow-up as required by investor, title company, originator, and/or client.

Assist in coordination of and be responsible for specific duties related to reporting, selling, and servicing of Freddie Mac loans.

Assist in preparation of Loan Documentation related to residential mortgage loans and home equity lines of credit.

Other duties as assigned.


Excellent relationship management, customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment while delivering highest levels of customer service.

Ability to meet daily and weekly production targets and monitor pipelines to ensure acceptable loan flow through system.

Proficient in WORD and EXCEL Microsoft Office, working knowledge of Laser Pro, Calyx and/or Doc Magic desirable; proficiency in Encompass or similar automated LOS.


College degree preferred or equivalent education and/ or experience.
