UPCI Basic Research Administration - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (22005910)

The newly formed Stallaert Lab (stallaertlab.com) at the Hillman Cancer Center and the Department of Computational and Systems Biology is looking for a Research Technician. We use cutting edge microscopy techniques to study cancer cell proliferation.We are searching for someone that would like to join our group on the ground floor and help us build. The successful candidate will help oversee and participate in our research activities. These include routine molecular and cell biology experiments (e.g. mammalian cell/tissue culture, DNA cloning, Western blotting), as well as specialized techniques in quantitative fluorescence microscopy (e.g. immunofluorescence, time-lapse imaging). This person would also assist with general lab organization and management. We are looking for a kind and meticulous person that is detail-oriented, a good communicator, and enjoys working with other people.

We are searching for someone with a four-year Bachelor's degree and previous research working in a research lab. A background in cell biology, cancer biology, pharmacology or pathology is preferred and previous experience in fluorescence microscopy and image analysis is highly desirable but not required. We will provide extensive training in all required skills for the successful candidate. Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years of related work experience. Experience with molecular/cell biology techniques and/or fluorescence microscopy and image analysis is highly desired.
