What You'll Do

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you have ownership over the quality of Sphero products. This includes the robots, the firmware on the robots, the software apps that work with the robots, and the software platforms used by our customers. As QA Manager, you'll spend a lot of your time working with different team members and doing hands-on testing. The entire product development team is small and distributed. You will be responsible for the relationship and management of the external test firm we partner with.

Sphero has many legacy products and new products or updates to products that are always in development. You'll need to really enjoy learning new things. QA isn't limited to work only within the product development team. For example, you may need to help customer service with escalations or product management with decisions about new offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide frequent hands-on testing - direct testing is at least half the time of this role.
  • Oversee and lead the external test firm in Vietnam.
  • Take ownership and make judgement calls.
  • Prioritize testing - work with team leads to support schedule goals.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of status, alert to possible risks and suggest strategies to mitigate.
  • Manage test processes and tools. Implement changes as needed.
  • Provide recommendations on improving current and future products.
  • Assist the Customer Success team with questions and resolving customer issues.


  • 8-10 years of QA experience.
  • 5 or more years experience as a QA manager or lead.
  • At least 2 years of experience testing mobile applications.
  • Experience testing web applications, backend services for mobile applications, and firmware updating processes is very helpful.
  • Experience with implementing test management processes and tools.
  • Experience with test automation is a plus.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills and certifications.
