Job DescriptionProgeny Systems Corporation is a privately held, high-tech small business focusing on software and hardware system integration, cutting-edge research and development, and manufacturing. We provide premium systems, services, and products for the Department of Defense, government agencies and commercial clients. Progeny Systems is seeking a self-motivated, organized, and experienced Quality Assurance Inspector to join the team.
A successful candidate will report directly to the Quality Assurance Supervisor at Progeny's Canonsburg, PA Facility. Candidates will be working in a fast paced and attention detailed environment. Work is performed to validate conformance of material to be used for production or direct delivery to customers. Most work activities shall be performed within a normal 40 hour work week, but candidates may have occasional overtime.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs fitment checks of material to ensure conformance/usability.
Performs inspections of mechanical, cable and circuit card assemblies against company controlled technical drawings/schematics and other specifications to ensure conformance.
Initiates non conformance reports for material identified to be out of specifications.
- Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials.
- Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual inspections to details assembly drawings and/or detail inspection procedures.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual inspections to details assembly drawings and/or detail inspection procedures.
- Documents all inspection results by completing reports into quality database.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements
Skills/RequirementsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to interpret and follow technical drawings, datasheets and written work instructions
Working knowledge of the basic Microsoft Office suite of business software; MS Word, Excel
Strong organizational and writing skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail
Preferred Education/Experience:
Minimum two years' experience in an Electronic, Mechanical and Electro-mechanical assembly Production Environment
IPC J-STD-001 Specialist Certification
IPC 610 Specialist Certification
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Must be a hard worker with a positive attitude
Must be able to obtain and hold a DoD security clearance
