POSITION PURPOSE

The purpose of the Department Coordinator is to provide exceptional customer service by supporting the Provider Network Department and supporting the organizations credentialing functions. Also, provide a variety of other duties and projects assigned by Manager to support the department. The candidate must be a team player willing to support multiple functions of the department.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the credentialing/re-credentialing processes. Serve as backup in the absence of the Credentialing Specialist.
  • Receive, update and maintain delegated rosters and other provider rosters including scanning, indexing and data warehousing.
  • Data entry and provider data maintenance
  • Assist in updating and creating Provider Network policies/procedures and standing operating procedure (Sops)
  • Assist with organizing provider meetings and correlating materials.
  • Initiate data entry of provider-related demographic information changes and oversee completion of change requests for the network.
  • Assist in the development of provider communication.
  • Conduct activities to support organizations assessment of provider access and availability.
  • Assist in network adequacy studies.
  • Assist the Department with internal and external audits
  • Order and maintain department supplies, craft and deliver provider notices.
  • Contribute to positive work environment and participate in process improvement and commitment to department/company success.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with key facility and provider personnel.
  • Travel to off-site meetings and events as necessary.
  • Comply with organizations internal policies and procedures, Code of Conduct, Compliance Plan, along with applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, managed care, Medicare or Medicaid preferred.
  • credentialing experience and/or provider relations preferred
  • Must have current and valid drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (eg. Medicare/Medicaid)
  • Experience considering the impacts of the work on multiple communities, including communities of color, in technical analysis.
  • Experience working on a diverse team
  • Experience working with different communication styles
  • Bi-lingual translation or translation capabilities a plus
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Typical office environment requiring standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds. May be exposed to patient and environment conditions such as unpleasant sights, smells and contagious diseases.
