Position Title: Project Quality Engineer

Reports To: Director Nuclear Quality

The Project Quality Engineer will perform 100%-dimensional inspection on all incoming parts using required inspection tools and processes.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Complete 100%-dimensional inspections on all incoming vendor parts.
  • Daily use of CMM - Romer portable arm.
  • Document ALL rejected parts using correct documentation.
  • Investigate practices and procedures and perform internal quality system audit to determine quality standards and whether these standards are being met. Implement corrective action as required.
  • Make dimensional, electrical or mechanical tests of materials, processes, assemblies or sub-assemblies.
  • Use a variety of precision measuring instruments and test equipment. This will include but not be limited to: Micrometers, Calipers, Bore Gauges, Hardness Gauge, Protractor and Radius Gauges.
  • Work with vendors to correct defect issues.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area including equipment and performs all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures.

Education: Technical Degree preferred but will take experience in leu of.

Experience: Two (2) plus years' experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints both mechanical and Electrical.

Other Requirements: Must work well without supervision. Visual acuity to read directions and prints to inspect parts closely to ensure that they meet standards. Physical ability to perform work requiring frequent stooping and bending. Physical strength to lift and carry 50 pounds frequently. Excellent Communication Skills - both written and verbal. Above average use of Excel. Valid Driver's License - you will have to travel to vendor locations on some occasions.
