Job Description:

The Project Manager, Boren is part of the Boren Awards team at IIE and advises Boren Scholarship and Fellowship participants taking part in long-term overseas programs focusing on intensive language and culture study in countries underrepresented in study abroad. The Boren Awards is a unique opportunity for US undergraduate and graduate students interested in languages and regions of the world that are critical to US national security, and who are committed to public service. The Project Manager, Boren communicates with participants on a regular basis, monitors participants' program compliance, academic or personal progress and outcomes, and provides emergency services as needed. This role has opportunities for travel as well as cross-training and collaboration on outreach and application and selection. The Project Manager, Boren also communicates with Boren Awards partners and sponsor as needed on a diverse range of topics, represents the program at events, and works to support the program goals as needed.

The Institute of International Education ("IIE") has a hybrid work environment that allows team members a combination of in-office work and telework at any of the locations listed above.

Essential Functions:
Serves as main point of contact for outbound US student participants and partner institutions or institutions as IIE sub-award recipients.
Monitors, tracks, and reports on participant progress, outcomes, conduct, well-being, and program compliance, as applicable.
Manages participant payments and assists in financial tracking and deliverables.
Provides emergency services support, connecting participants to local resources and coordinating follow-up communications and actions as necessary.
Maintains participant data in Client Relationship Management (CRM), following established processes. Assists with data requests and analysis.
Assists in the planning and implementation of regional and national events, including pre-departure orientations.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related work experience, or combination education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of outbound US undergraduate and graduate student participants and study abroad or language and culture programs.
Ability to interact with all levels of team members and clients, including the ability to work with partner organizations and institutions.
Ability to manage intercultural and emergency issues responsively and with care.
Demonstrated project management, time management, and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team environment, including both independently and collaboratively with a team managing a high volume of challenging and dynamic tasks under tight deadlines.
Flexibility and adaptability with changing program and sponsor needs and requests.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to exercise discretion on confidential matters and to demonstrate sound judgement in consulting with and keeping others informed.
Broad knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and customer management software.

Salary Range: $55,043 - $63,988. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
