Job Description:

This position is responsible for leading IIE's program development efforts for new and existing clients within corporate, foundation, U.S. and foreign government, and academic institutions. The position serves as proposal technical lead on large, complex, and high priority bid opportunities and proposal development. The position is also responsible for tracking assigned opportunities, and developing compelling program designs that showcase IIE's competitive advantage while meeting client requirements. Serves as a key IIE resource for program development and represents the institute as a subject matter expert.

The Institute of International Education ("IIE") has a hybrid work environment that allows team members a combination of in-office work and telework at any of the locations listed above.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as lead writer gathering and integrating information and ideas on assigned business development opportunities.
  • Leads design and strategy development for assigned proposal opportunities, including working with the pricing team to develop budgets.
  • Establishes and cultivates relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Conducts general market research on potential clients, competitors, and partners.
  • Prepares and conducts marketing and promotional pitches.
  • Compiles and integrates feedback from reviewers into pitches and proposal.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and at at least five years of related work experience, or combination education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Extensive experience developing and delivering pitch presentations and leading and writing concepts and proposals that have led to new business with corporate, foundation, foreign government and/or academic institution clients.
  • Exceptional writing, public speaking, networking, and customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple projects at on time and work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to gather information and ideas from a range of sources inside and outside of IIE and integrate information and ideas into a cohesive pitch, concept, or proposal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional proposal teams.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate, foundation, and/or foreign government funding environment and trends.

Salary Range: $71,394 - $94,947. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
