Reporting to the Director of Alumni and Development Communications, the PSS4 will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of communication and stewardship campaigns aimed at increasing engagement and philanthropic support of Stockton University among key constituent groups including alumni, recent graduates, students, parents, faculty, staff and others. This position helps to coordinate messages, sequencing, and timing for communications related to alumni engagement, annual giving, stewardship, and related activities. Night and weekend availability is required to assist with events.

This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.

Successful candidates will be required to show proof of their COVID-19 vaccine status prior to their start date. Religious or Medical waivers may be requested at the time of employment offer.

  • Prepares and develops content for print publications, email marketing and other media to engage specific audiences
  • Assists in development and implementation of successful social media campaigns to meet the departments strategic and short-term goals, including but not limited to; increased philanthropic support among key segments, increased engagement of alumni based on affinity, life cycle, and career stage
  • Communicate with social media followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor digital conversations
  • Take, edit and create digital images, photos and video to accompany digital content.
  • Assists in drafting and distributing timely stewardship correspondence to donors and others
  • Supports continuous engagement of giving society members
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues throughout the department to assist with the creation of content for the Alumni and Friends and Stockton University Foundation websites. Keeps sites updated, relevant and useful
  • Research trends and best practices in university advancement industry to offer innovative and successful opportunities for alumni and friends to become informed about, involved with and invested in Stockton University and the Stockton University Foundation
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Experience working in a communications role for or with a non-profit, community organization, sales organization, or institution of higher education
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of current social networks and platforms
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and attention to detail are essential
  • Demonstrated writing for a position, professional organization or non-profit
    • Writing samples required
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Must handle multiple activities simultaneously with attention and adherence to deadlines and accuracy
