The Payment Services Specialist II will be primarily responsible for performing assigned ACH and Wire processing duties and will also include but not limited to resolve any customer payment disputes, process REG E claims, resolve escalated operational issues or functions assigned to the department. Providing excellent internal and external customer service and supporting all areas of operations while maintaining professionalism and versatility.

Essential Duties and Functions: (include but are not limited to)
  • Primarily responsible for processing all ACH and Wire duties as assigned.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in the area of back-office support functions and regulation, with a good understanding of International and Domestic Wires, ACH, and Reg E dispute processing.
  • Able to work within a team environment, take initiative, prioritize tasks, with the ability to assist in problem prevention and resolutions.
  • Working accurately with close attention to details, displaying good time-management skills.
  • Process and maintain quality control and confidentiality over critical processes and information, multi-task and finish assigned tasks timely and efficiently.
  • Reviews, verifies, posts and balances ACH files and outgoing wire transfers and related reports.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing ACH files from the Federal Reserve or other 3rd party processor, resolves rejects, stop payment requests, disputes and inquiries.
  • Willing to be trained on other Deposit Operations functions as needed.
  • Adheres to legal and regulatory requirements and responsibilities in relation to payments and other general financial institution regulations.
  • Assists with other department functions and provides back up support as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Required Experience and Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of current and progressive experience within the functional area, preferably in a financial institution.

Preferred Experience and Education
  • Associates degree or higher in general business or finance or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3-7 years of current and progressive experience within the functional area, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) designation preferred; or must be willing to attain designation in the first year of employment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms and stand for long periods of time. The employee is required to occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Generally works in an office and/or remote environment buy may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting. Team Member will be exposed to moderate stress levels associated with the performance of the job duties described above. There may be extended periods of computer and telephone use while performing job duties. Employee will be intermittently seated, standing and/or walking during the course of a normal business day. While every precaution is taken to avoid exposing employees to dangers in the workplace, working in a financial institution may expose employees to certain hazards in the event of criminal activity including robbery and/or attempted robbery.
