To provide and maintain network security through support, maintenance and administration of various information systems.
  • Keep abreast of industry product advances and best practices. Research tools and processes to present to management.
  • Keep up to date on the latest security risks
  • Add and upgrade various software applications and suites as required.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves complex problems of computer systems, hardware, and network systems
  • Develop and maintain documentation for complex applications.
  • Log all activities in the Help Desk ticket database including, but not limited to maintenance, upgrades or replacement of hardware and software systems, applications and suites as required.
  • Assists with monitoring of network access, data security, file access and reports potential risks.
  • Configure and optimize Data Loss Prevention (DLP) software policies and rules
  • Manage and monitor mobile encryption
  • Perform internal and external network vulnerability scans
  • Review scan results, perform gap analysis and implement remediation plans
  • Setup, configuration and maintenance of patch management software
  • Setup, configuration and maintenance of intrusion prevention software
  • Setup, configuration and maintenance of email security systems
  • Monitor Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) events
  • Monitor DLP Incidents and take appropriate action
  • Monitor security events using the SIEM tool (Security Incidents Event Management)
  • Create and review security policies in accordance with HIPAA and/or industry standards
  • Facilitate network security audits with 3rd party vendors
  • Assist with security training of internal and external staff
  • Assist team members with patching systems (servers, network firewalls, routers, wireless access points, switches)
  • Assess current and future information security risk; lead remediation efforts.
  • Lead the audit of applications and system configurations routinely to ensure proper information security is in place.
  • Investigate reported security incidents, lead remediation efforts and provide reporting as necessary.
  • Continuously assess endpoint security control coverage, escalating gaps to appropriate teams for corrective action required.
  • Test security controls and validate that the controls are designed appropriately and are effective.
  • Effectively and efficiently document findings and develop actionable, clear recommendations.
  • Perform formal assessments of security controls against cybersecurity best practices to identify gaps, generate reports on assessment findings and participate in the development and support of required corrective action plans.

  • Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures used within the computer industry.
  • Proven experience configuring, maintaining and upgrading Cisco network equipment
  • Proven experience managing and maintaining network access, data security and file access
  • Proven experience with network security products such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, patch management software, antivirus and antimalware products, encryption software, spam filtering and SIEM tools
  • Understanding of Windows Server 2016 and 2019 operating systems
  • Have reliable transportation for transportation to clients sites, hold a valid drivers license and maintain insurance on the vehicle used for work.
  • Relies on experience and judgment on plan and accomplish goals. Ability to multi task and prioritize as needed.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Sciences, Associates degree or technical institute degree preferred and/or 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Cisco CCNA certification preferred.
  • Microsoft MCSE certification preferred
  • CISSP certification preferred.

Typical office environment requiring standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
