Job Description

Progeny Systems is seeking a highly motivated Mid-level Facilities Engineer/Technician to maintain and support building, environmental, site, etc for the Progeny Systems Manassas campuses. Success in this position will require a mix of physical, technical and social skills. This position requires attention to detail and hands-on work in all aspects of building/site maintenance. A great work ethic and motivation are essential.

**ACTIVE DoD Clearance is required**

Duties and Responsibilities

• Building maintenance to include plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, etc.
• Office furniture movement / building
• Equipment maintenance
• Equipment movement
• Parking lot maintenance
• Fence maintenance
• Working with vendors
• Electrical service and repair

Skills/Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to quickly diagnose and fix issues
• General understanding of building mechanicals
• Demonstrable evidence of an analytical approach to problem solving is a *must*.
• Must be highly motivated and have an excellent attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Understanding / working knowledge of computers and computer equipment
• Be able to use basic email and computer equipment

Education/Experience

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues
• Journeyman's / Master license or willingness to pursue
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in facility repair / maintenance field or related experience.
• Experience managing small medium sized projects with limited supervision

This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to operate tools / machinery such as drill, multimeter, jack hammer
• Ability to lift and transport up to 80 pounds at times
• Effectively communicate with others
• Work weekends/off shift, if necessary
• Ability to stay focused and provide attention to detail
• Ability to think analytically and apply problem solving skills to scenarios throughout the course of the workday
• Be respectful to fellow employees
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Willingness to do many different types of tasks
