We are seeking a Medical Scheduling Associate
Athens County

Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-minded, forward-thinking behavioral health organization helping people along the road to health and well-being. We meet people in their homes and communities and help connect them to the resources they need. We serve Southeastern and Central Ohio with a comprehensive array of behavioral health and other services working with local partners to promote healthy people and strong communities. All of our services are intended to be collaborative and personalized for the individual.

Essential Functions:

  • Schedule appointments via inbound and outbound phone calls, in person, or via electronic correspondence
  • Coordinate changes in appointments by canceling and/or re-scheduling as necessary
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate schedule templates for day-to-day edits and reschedules.
  • Obtains accurate demographic and insurance information and updates in the EHR as necessary.
  • Checks in patients at the clinic location.
  • Responsible for patient reminders, as appropriate, in advance of appointment.
  • Ensures that pre-certification/prior authorization process is completed on or prior to the visit.
  • Personifies a friendly no wrong door approach to all ISBH services and supports.
  • Liaisons with manager frequently to ensure continuity of service.
  • Responsible for receiving and recording client referrals to behavioral medicine.
  • Provide cross coverage with the medical assistants including but not limited to obtaining vitals and facilitating urine drug screens.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three years' experience in medical scheduling, patient billing, customer service, medical administration required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in business, health care, communications, or other related field preferred
  • Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and/or CPT/ICD coding preferred.
  • Demonstrated high degree of cultural awareness.
  • Experience with multi-need people and families.
  • Ability to use appropriate databases, spreadsheets, and other software.
  • Able to communicate well through verbal/written expression.
  • Effectively operates in an Internet-based, electronic health record (EHR) as well as other
  • data environments.
