To assist the Medical Records Specialist in providing medical records to patients, health care providers and other staff members along with many outside agencies, attorneys, courts, etc. for the purpose of continuity of care using the Federal HIPAA rules to the fullest ability.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Medical Records Specialist with processing record requests for all providers within Umpqua Health. This includes Providers previously employed.
Ensure that all record requests are HIPAA compliant.
Assist Medical Records Specialist with requests from the Douglas County Sheriffs Office.
Assist other offices with records requests.
Enter records into the Practice Management and EMR.
Docutrak all releases into the Document Manager.
Internal courier delivery.
Liaison of offsite storage company to retrieve charts when needed.
Coordinate all paperwork and charts for assigned Providers scheduled appointments.
Comply with organizations internal policies and procedures, Code of Conduct, Compliance Plan, along with applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong verbal communication skills, both in person and on the telephone.
