Overview of role:
The focus of this position is developing and implementing marketing actions in accordance with the annual brand plan to engage riders and achieve sales targets. The main emphasis is creating and driving the marketing calendar to ensure cohesive communications across all rider touch points, while capturing and evaluating metrics to ensure goals are met. Primary objectives are: increasing brand engagement, effectively communicating brand initiatives, and timely delivery of marketing materials and communications. The Marketing Communications & Engagement Manager must support sales and marketing initiatives on a global scale while maintaining a focus on domestic consumer engagement.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, Sports Marketing or related field required
5+ years experience in marketing with a proficient understanding of the cycling market
Experience with social media, email marketing, consumer events, media relations, and go-to-market planning
Excellent written and oral communication skills; copywriting experience a plus
Must be high energy, self-starter with strong organizational skills, self-discipline and problem-solving abilities
Personable and professional with great enthusiasm for the brand and product
Must be able to work with a diverse group of internal people and departments: Digital, Product Development, Sales, and Operations as well as internal and external customers and vendors
Enthusiasm for riding bikes
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
With the Director of Global Marketing, develop annual strategic marketing programs and calendar
Plan, develop and implement marketing communications and public relations activities
Develop and manage an internal process for project creation, routing, approval & archiving
Adhere to an annual marketing plan, calendar and budget
Maintain effective communication and integration between the marketing department and other departments to ensure execution of programs
Plan and manage the creative project timelines to insure timely and cost-efficient execution of advertising, POS, packaging, product content, collateral and dealer sales tools
Manage external partners to hit objectives of outsourced projects
Execute market research and provide feedback for product team
Manage PR function with outside agency
Maintain media contacts for increased effectiveness and brand exposure within the industry
Recruit and manage athlete and ambassador relationships
Track and report on marketing metrics measuring consumer engagement
Work closely with the Go-to-Market Specialist to create and execute programs that are appropriate for retail channels to drive growth
Manage PEARL iZUMi trade show presence if needed
Act as a key member of the Business Planning process
Other duties/Responsibilities:
National and international travel to trade shows, consumer shows, industry conferences, key retailers, photo shoots, GTM Meetings and sales meeting etc.
Weekend travel is required.
