Under the direction of Vice President of Destination Services, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations and staffing of the Meet Minneapolis Visitor Center. This position establishes and maintains an active relationship with stakeholders, tenants, partners and the community, and directly supports the organizational goals of Meet Minneapolis.



  • Oversee day-to-day operations of Meet Minneapolis Visitor Center.
  • Create and implement working daily operations plan incorporating all functions and partners within the center.
  • Serve as primary contact for retail partner within the center.
  • Manage visitor info services and assist in retail operations.
  • Maintain risk and safety management processes including controls for cash handling and security.
  • Handle facility liaison issues by and between center lessee(s), partners, stakeholders, and Meet Minneapolis departments.
  • Assist in forecasting and budgeting for operations and personnel for the center(s).
  • Act as first point of contact to the building manager(s) for any issues relating to the space(s).
  • Maintain visitor count mechanism and provide reporting as directed.
  • Ensure a safe, clean and well-maintained public center and working environment.
  • Liaise with Meet Minneapolis Administration/IT department to ensure all technology and equipment is functional


  • Recruit, train and supervise a staff of both paid and volunteer workers for the Minneapolis Visitor Center.
  • Maintain staff training manuals and conduct staff training and team meetings.
  • Forecast and prepare monthly schedules for all Visitor Center staff.
  • Review and approve timesheets for all paid employees; schedule and approve all time off.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing communication tools to communicate with employees meetings, emails, bulletin board, etc.


  • Represent Visitor Center at all appropriate Meet Minneapolis member and community events.
  • Maintain external relationships pertinent to the overall success of the center and for the visibility of the project, including current and potential members, community leaders and city departments.
  • All other duties or projects assigned by VP of Destination Services


  • 4 year degree or commensurate experience.
  • 3+ years experience within the hospitality industry, tourism, retail services, visitor information services and sales.
  • Experience working in a retail environment
  • CVA (Certificate for Volunteer Administration) is beneficial.
  • Valid drivers license


  • Reliable; energetic; organized; detail-oriented; and passionate about Minneapolis.
  • Excellent communication skills second language skills are favored.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of business-related technology and communications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Enthusiastic user of social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of the Greater Minneapolis area, hotels, attractions, assets.
  • Passionate adherence to organization goals of Service, Collaboration, Inclusion, Passion and Integrity


While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to:
