Manager, Leadership Development - District Office

FUNCTION:

This position will design, develop and implement a broad range of programs for SJCD leaders. Responsible for ensuring SJCD leadership programs are properly aligned and leaders at all levels are developed. Will target specific competencies essential to leader success. This position will partner with members of the OTD team to actively support an integrated learning framework using various instructional design methodologies.

MAJOR REPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design, develop and implement leadership development training and assessment using multiple methodologies and technologies.
  • Curate leadership development training and resources for leaders at all levels across the college
  • Develop and promote targeted resources which enhance leadership performance and are aligned with SJCD leadership development strategies.
  • Implement various leadership programs including coaching, mentoring, and team development training programs.
  • Create learning curriculum based on select competencies for job roles, jobs and job families.
  • Collaborate with Director, Talent Technology to determine training needs for leaders.
  • Research best practices for training and professional development for leaders.
  • Work with members of the OTD team to maintain and update Leadership Development resources.
  • Identify and implement key metrics to determine overall effectiveness of leadership development programs.
  • Utilize technology to promote a learning framework which includes comprehensive and integrated solutions to employee and organizational issues.
  • Work with talent development coordinator set up logistical arrangements for a variety of professional development programs.


  • Additional Job Functions:
  • Participate in College committees, as needed.
  • Evaluate online and off the shelf training programs for efficiency, cost effectiveness, and organizational impact.
  • Maintain professional level competency through professional development.




  • REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to engage a diverse group of learners
  • Solid understanding of adult learning and instructional design.
  • Experience assessing, designing, developing, delivering and evaluating training and development programs for employees.
  • Experience coaching others towards improved performance outcomes
  • Able to establishing and maintaining excellent professional relationships
  • Creative/innovative problem solver
  • Strong customer focus
  • Excellent planning, organizing and time management skills
  • Proven drive to achieve excellent results
  • Able to work effectively as member of a team and independently


  • Required Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in related field


    Required Experience:
    • Five (5) to seven (7) years experience in the following areas:
      • Leadership Development
      • Team Development
      • Employee Development
      • Coaching or Instructional design
      • Preferred Education:

    Preferred Experience:
    • Seven (7) to ten (10) years experience in the following areas:
      • Leadership Development
      • Employee Development,
      • Team Development,
      • Coaching,
      • Instructional Design
      • Master's degree in related field

    Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
    • CPLP
    • Strengths Based-Leadership
    • Competency Development


    Note: This position has opportunity for remote work arrangements with appropriate approvals and in accordance with the policies, procedures, and needs of the College.

    Salary Grade: 27

    Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
