Position Summary

Campaign Legal Center (CLC) is seeking an Executive Communications Manager to elevate the public voices and profiles of CLCs president and other organizational leaders. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing skills with the ability to inhabit anothers voice and develop content for a variety of platforms (email, social media) and audiences (donors and partners).

This is an exciting opportunity to advocate for an organization at the frontlines of protecting U.S. democracy. The position is a member of CLCs 10-person communications team and will report to CLCs Director, Digital Communications. However, this position will work directly with CLCs President and serve a central role in the organization, coordinating content creation across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce clear internal and external communications for CLCs president[MH1] , such as speeches, talking points and emails
  • Build CLC president and senior vice presidents online profile through social media strategies and social media influencer outreach
  • In coordination with the Communications and Development teams, develop content that explains the impact of CLCs work, including drafting the annual report, and regular donor and board communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in a writing role, preferably with a nonprofit organization, the government or on a political campaign; Demonstrated experience working in the democracy field is a significant plus.
  • Knowledge of how to use social media and email for advocacy and fundraising
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong creative thinking skills
  • Strong relationship-building, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends when necessary
  • Commitment to CLCs mission
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; experience incorporating DEI best practices into communications is a plus
