This position will be responsible for standard operating/production procedures, safety, quality control, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Maintenance Department. This position provides maintenance support to all areas of operation and will be responsible for the supervision of all maintenance activities involving machinery for production, facilities internal and external and other area as assigned.

  • Will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and supervising all maintenance activities associated all assigned areas.
  • Responsible for maintaining efficiencies measurable through maintenance principles and practices, contractor resources planning, and flexibility.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages, and test equipment.
  • Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
  • Oversees and responsible for installs, starts up and shuts down of equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
  • Advises line operators of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
  • Informs appropriate management of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
  • Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment including all calibration schedules and calibration services.
  • Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed or as manufactures recommendation.
  • Perform or assist in fabrication, and routine machine checks.
  • Assists operation personnel with technical troubleshooting.
  • Assists and trains other maintenance and/or other technical level employees as directed.
  • Participate in a teamwork atmosphere and contribute to various continuous improvement projects and Kaizen activities, such as standardized work improvements, 5S workplace organization and / or other improvement activities, etc.
  • Will promote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through 5s activities and be responsible for proper material storage and waste disposal.
  • Involved in long-term planning in relation to major projects, equipment installation, property improvements, etc.
  • Successfully lead and function within a team environment and be able to adapt to change.
  • This position will be predominantly assigned to the 1st shift but must be able to work any shift and overtime as needed.
  • Responsible for all necessary reporting and required paperwork.
  • Receptive to training and performing functions in multiple areas.
  • Communicate effectively with others at various levels using both oral and written communication skills.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Must have supervisory knowledge in a manufacturing environment, specifically within a maintenance capacity.
  • Must possess strong maintenance ability and aptitude to apply mechanical and electrical/electronic skill sets.
  • Working knowledge and skill with highly sophisticated equipment software including PLCs.
  • High level of knowledge and skill of cutting tools and materials.
  • Recognize and define problems, collect data, and develop conclusions.
  • Must have ability to use thinking and reasoning skills to solve a problem.
  • Must possess the ability for working under pressure - complete assigned tasks under stressful situations and deal with the stress or emergency situations.

  • Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Four-year technical degree with focus in mechanical / electrical disciplines preferred.

Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) from an accredited recognize program a plus.

Two-year technical degree or accredited equivalent in mechanical or electrical disciplines a must to be considered.


Minimum seven years of proven industrial maintenance experience, specifically in mechanical and electrical/electronics. 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience or demonstrated team leadership capabilities. Must have prior experience in large equipment manufacturing, preferably in the large structural fabrication industry.

Experience and in fabrication, machine shop equipment, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, PLC and NC programming and troubleshooting, power utilization and general facility maintenance.
