Overview

The main purpose for this role is to ensure all short form material for Discovery Networks Northern Europe is processed and prepared for On Air within set deadlines. Additionally, the Lead Copy Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the content is adheres to multiple European regulators (e.g. BLM and CSA). The role will lead other team members in their daily responsibilities as well as work closely with the Management in outlining and implementing new workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Inventory Planning and Marketing teams in Nordic territories to co-ordinate the delivery of all commercial, promo and airlook material required for transmission in a complaint and timely manner.


  • Act as the first point of contact for commercial and promo compliance queries from clients and producers in Nordic territories.


  • Liaise with schedulers across Nordic territories to ensure their requirements and needs are satisfied.


  • Work closely with the Management to develop standardized workflows across Nordic territories, highlighting efficiencies and cost savings.


  • Work with 3 rd party delivery platforms to ensure that copy is provided accurately according to tech specs and set deadlines.


  • Work closely with Management to outline and implement new workflows and structures in order to ensure all the team members duties are performed as efficiently as possible.


  • Responsible for suggesting new software developments and ensuring these are tested and rolled out whilst maintaining continuous service and quality.


  • Assist management in reviewing and maintaining SOPs, processes and workflow documentation.


  • Assist in training of new employees


  • Browse content to ensure compliance with relevant broadcast regulator.


  • Lead and assist other team members in their daily responsibilities of preparing short form content for scheduling. Including creating cutlists in VPMS and final approve QC ensuring assets live up to broadcast standard and is compliant with European advertising laws.


  • Troubleshoot, problem solve and liaise with broadcast engineering during system downtime and adhoc technical issues as needed.


  • Assist and support other teams and Management within the programming department with various ad-hoc tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 year experience of a previewing, editorial or copy controller role.
  • Good knowledge of broadcast TV and terminology is a must.
  • Good understanding of broadcast scheduling and MAM systems.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of the Microsoft office package.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Broadcast regulators
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with leadership skills
  • Great attention to details and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Scandinavian language skills are an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience of working in an international and matrix styled organisation
