Overview

The Infrastructure Manager's role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing the organization's IT Infrastructure including networking, desktops/laptops, servers, storage, security, app management, data and voice communications, and the help desk. The IT Infrastructure Manager will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide direction for the infrastructure team in support of business operations.
  • Manage, retain, and mentor a high-performance, high-achieving infrastructure team.
  • Manage the design, maintenance, evaluation, and installation of all infrastructure systems.
  • Evaluate, plan, and deliver upgrades, improvements, and conversions.
  • Research and make recommendations on solution and services in support of procurement and implementation efforts.
  • Collaborate with third-party equipment and service providers.
  • Monitor and provide reporting on network and server performance.
  • Manage the Help Desk Operations.
  • Ensure execution and management of the organization's Disaster Recovery plan.
  • Collaborate with the IT Applications team to provide support to users and for project execution.
  • Provide support to internal users including periodic training.
  • Stay current on the latest innovations in IT Infrastructure.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervises employees in the department
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including Health and Safety, Investors in People, Sarbanes Oxley, Quality Standards, Environmental Policy, and Ethics Policy.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; employee development; planning, assigning and directing work, apprising performance; rewarding and disciplining, employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Provides employment development and coaching to direct reports


Additional Responsibilities:
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and organizes work areas for efficiency and safety.
  • Provides status reports to management as required.
  • Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in information systems or Equivalent is required.
  • 10+ years' experience in IT infrastructure management and end-user support.
  • Excellent skills in infrastructure systems management: Data Center, Storage, Security, Networking, and Virtualization.
  • Experience in and knowledge of upstream oil & gas industry a plus.
  • Proven management experience in fast-paced growth environment.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills, including the ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Excellent creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer-service orientation; experience leading through and executing cross functional initiatives across multiple lines of business; ability to bring alignment to drive projects to completion.
