Working alongside the site EHS specialist in Pittsfield, NH, the intern will have a unique opportunity to apply their academic learning at a company that manufacturers products that protect lives in communities around the world. The Environmental, Health & Safety intern will gain hands-on experience in a corporate EHS environment, development/testing laboratories, manufacturing environment and interacting with the people who test and build our products. They will contribute within a team environment by supporting any of the following activities:



Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and completing risk assessments for Processes and Equipment in the R&D facility
  • Participate in weekly inspections in R&D facility identifying areas for safety improvement
  • Facility Mock Inspections (Pgh Area) for OSHA Regulatory Requirements
  • Development of Tool Box Talks
  • Assistance with an Industrial Hygiene Global Assessment of Requirements.
  • Assistance with audit protocols for Global EHS. Develop a matrix and general guidance document
  • Assistance in developing programs for external functions including Service and Sales
  • Personal Protective Equipment Hazard Assessments
  • Develop Job Safety Assessments
  • Identify EHS improvement opportunity throughout the facilities.
  • Develop Lockout Tagout documentation
  • Assist in EHS trainings
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Basic experience with data analysis, methods and graphing.
  • Creative problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools, with a special emphasis on Excel and Access.

Education and experience required:

  • Incumbent must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, or other relevant discipline, and must have completed at least two semesters prior to the beginning of this opportunity.
