Position Summary

The Information Security Analyst is responsible for cybersecurity monitoring, incident response, investigation, general administration, and reporting. The individual will act as the first point of contact for all information security incidents and will be responsible for coordinating, and escalating cybersecurity activities along with security operations including threat identification remediation and incident response.

The Information Security Analyst also reviews and reports on system and software configurations and deployments to ensure endpoint security and compliance.

The Information Security Analyst works in close partnership with other IT team members and participates in overall IT planning and development of technology strategies bringing a current knowledge and future vision of cybersecurity technology.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Monitors and manages cybersecurity tools to protect the organizations technology and digital assets.
  • Continuously assess the organizations systems, networks, and data to determine what types of security defenses are necessary.
  • Actively contributes feedback pertaining to the secure configuration of information systems.
  • Acts with sense of urgency when responding to incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Expands their security knowledge and experience in technologies and methodologies as it relates to IAM technologies, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) devices, firewalls, proxies, access controls, encryption, networking, scripting, auditing, vulnerability assessments, IDS IPS and operations. Additionally, to assist with effective research, data gathering, analysis, metrics reporting and communications.
  • Actively manages technology security environment, including evaluation of user access provisioning and deprovisioning processes and reporting.
  • Responds to any security breaches or intrusions that may occur.
  • Assists with investigations to determine how security breaches happened.
  • Reports findings and provides security recommendations to management.
  • Is sometimes on-call for after-hours support.

Required Experience & Education

  • Associates or Bachelors degree related to Computer Science, Business or Information Systems preferred or equivalent experience
  • CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP or similar certification preferred
  • 2+ years working with cybersecurity efforts including:
    1. Incident Response
    2. Security Operations
    3. Security Reporting
    4. Administering End Point protection products
  • 2+ years experience monitoring, administering, and supporting complex environments.
  • Good working knowledge of applicable cybersecurity tools
  • Ability to set and change priorities amongst multiple competing constituencies.
  • Familiarity with NIST and CIS concepts and best practices.
  • Familiarity with:
    1. OS: Windows Server, Linux
    2. Web Technologies: Web Services and Load Balancing
    3. Performance and measurement: Security monitoring tools SIEM
    4. Security and compliance: IDS IPS, VPN, Encryption. PII, SOX
    5. Other Technologies: MDM, MFA

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this role is $90,000 - 120,000K annually. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
