Vice President of Staff Development

General Purpose

This position serves as the lead for all member-facing human resources content creation and builds and manages the Brewers Association's Human Resources (HR) committee. This position will serve as a subject matter expert to assist and guild the committee in creating HR-themed resources for craft breweries. This position both generates project ideas and does the legwork to bring them to completion.

This position also serves as a support to the Brewers Association's internal facing HR department as needed.

Essential Duties

- Serve as the strategic and executional lead for all Brewers Association Human Resources member content

- Oversee and manage all member-facing HR programs and projects including:

Sexual harassment prevention toolkit

Alcohol use/abuse and intervention resources for breweries

Sample alcohol consumption policies

Training on how to recognize and intervene in problem drinking

Guidance on providing support to those struggling with alcohol use

- Partner with Equity and Inclusion Partner and DEI Committee on Thrive programming for Craft Brewers Conference

1-day HR Bootcamp at Craft Brewers Conference

Build a multi-session lineup of speakers and programming aimed at equipping non-HR people to build HR functions into their breweries

- Build and manage a Brewers Association Human Resources committee, with a focus on producing resources and programs for BA member craft breweries

Serve as liaison to Human Resources Committee, including scheduling and facilitating monthly meetings, setting agenda, managing committee roster and recruitment and recording/distributing meeting notes

o Manage all committee working groups

o Manage all projects originating with the HR Committee

- Serve as a Brewers Association representative to the BRU (Brewing Respect & Unity) Coalition to assist in guiding that group's resources and research

- Create, manage, and execute HR member-resources annual plan and budget

- Serve as internal and external champion for Brewers Association's member-facing HR resource efforts

- Support marketing department in formulating member and public facing communications on HR resources

- Conduct four virtual state guild speaking engagements as the Human Resources Ambassador

- Lead two HR-themed presentations on BA Collab Hour to provide updates on HR resources

- Write four annual blog posts for BA.org

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

- Society of Human Resource Management certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)

- Strong experience as a human resources practitioner

- Excellent ability to build community support and buy in for human resources priorities

- Strong project management skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Strong ability to build cross-functional buy in for program goals

- Strong self-motivation and ability work independently

- Outstanding ability to develop positive relationships with both colleagues and craft beer industry members

- Strong public-speaking and media relations skills

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and projects to achieve ongoing goals in multiple areas

- Strong organization skills and strong attention to detail

Travel Required
