ABOUT THE ROLE

Oxford University Press has an exciting opportunity in our Human Resources (HR) department. We are looking for an ambitious HR and Payroll Administrator to join our team and play a key role in a number of HR initiatives and functions. This opportunity will include a full-time work schedule. The HR and Payroll Administrator is responsible for overseeing a variety of key day-to-day functions, has significant responsibility for supporting the payroll function, as well as involvement in periodic organizational initiatives and ad-hoc projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

U.S. Payroll
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the collection of payroll-related data changes for the U.S. (e.g., new hires, terminations, benefit changes, retroactive pay, bonuses, employment status changes, etc.) and facilitate the communication of such changes to the Payroll Supervisor.
  • Work with the Payroll Supervisor to become sufficiently familiar with UKGPro to serve as back-up to the Payroll Supervisor in their absence.

Canada Payroll
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the collection of payroll-related data changes for Canada (e.g., new hires, terminations, benefit changes, retroactive pay, bonuses, employment status changes, etc.) and facilitate the communication of such changes to Ceridian.
  • Work with Ceridian and the OUP Finance team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll.

Human Resources
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding company policies and processes, benefits enrollment and information, and HRIS functions.
  • Serve as a back-up resource as needed for the HR Coordinator (e.g., to assist with internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests, perform new hire orientations, process invoices, support with on-boarding and off boarding processes etc.).
  • Assist in the set up and coordination of employee engagement events, blood drives, service awards, etc.
  • Support benefits administration, including new hire benefits enrollment, open enrollment period and distributing transit cards

ABOUT YOU
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and related business and communication tool in particular, demonstrable, intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Must be able to take initiative, work independently, and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a virtual environment.
  • At least two years of payroll experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with UKGPro preferred as well as SAP Success Factors or other HRIS systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a virtual environment.

Location: This role is located in Cary, NC on a hybrid basis.
