Job Summary

Amgen's 10 - 13 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives! This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

The intern will assess the sensitivity of quantitative thresholds used for signal detection within the Global Patient Safety organization. This evaluation should consider all applicable global regulations, guidance documents, and published scientific literature. All impacted processes should be considered including signal detection and management, safety governance and any interdependent activities. At the close of the summer, a business case with results and recommendations will be presented to Safety Management leadership for implementation.

Basic Qualifications
  • Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
  • 18 years or older
  • Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a MBA program OR a Master's program OR a PharmD program OR PhD from an accredited college or university
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Possess U.S. citizenship, permanent legal residence, or unrestricted work authorization in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Master's degree with a concentration in life sciences, data science, public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, engineering, regulatory sciences or related field
  • Experience with data analysis or data analytics
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management, decision-making and organizational skills
  • Ability to apply research findings, capture information, interpret and analyze results, develop and implement a logical and strategic plan of action
  • Ability to make supportable recommendations to help achieve department goals
  • Ability to work independently and with ambiguity
  • Strong computer skills; strong technical use of Microsoft Suite
  • Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or health care industry experience
