Job Purpose:

All BETA refueling equipment undergoes rigorous quality testing before delivery to our customers. The Flow Test Technician I supports all functions of the Test Bay including set-up, testing, and troubleshooting of assembled aviation refueling equipment using any combination of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and computer skills and technologies. Our Flow Test Technicians work in a team environment. Work hours are Monday Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm with occasional overtime required and occasional Saturday.

Job Duties:

• Ensure all tested equipment conforms to BETA established quality standards and conforms to customer specifications.
• Perform established tests on finished products and subassemblies to ensure equipment functionality, quality, and compliance.
• Prepare and assemble materials.
• Set up and operate testing equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
• Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or products.
• Calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality testing, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, or ring gauges.
• Keep testing logs and maintain accurate and current documentation of testing procedures and results.
• Prepare testing documents, such as standard operating procedures, manufacturing batch records, inventory reports, or productivity reports.
• Measure and record data associated with testing equipment.
• Set up and verify the functionality of safety equipment.
• Start up and shut down testing equipment. Report issues to Engineering, Quality Control or Maintenance Teams.
• Clean testing equipment and work areas. Select cleaning materials, tools, and equipment.
• Responsible for compliance with established company, local, state, and federal health, safety and environmental policies, practices, and regulations for Test Bay operations.
• Collect hazardous or non-hazardous waste in correctly labeled barrels or other containers and transfer them to collection areas.
• Collaborate with Engineering Team in developing, building, and testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures.
• Work closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Field Service Teams to ensure product quality is maintained on a timely and cost-effective basis.
• Provide technical support and advice to all impacted parties including internal and external customers.
• Communicate ideas and concerns to Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Field Service teams.
• Maintain knowledge and competency in generally accepted company, industry and function tests and techniques as well as interpretation of results.
• Assist in plant operations when needed and performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a mechanic or aviation ground support maintenance preferred
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting required
• Forklift experience helpful
• Familiar with industrial safety environment and use of common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, welding helmet, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats (BETA will provide or reimburse)
• Ability to work in high noise levels and with hazardous materials and equipment
• Physical Requirements using hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools, ability to read written instructions, able to frequently lift, push, pull and/or move materials 50-100 pounds independently. Able to climb, bend, stoop, reach.
